It’s 5am here, and the house is quiet, save for the laundry re-washing (that I forgot to dry yesterday), and the sound of my laptop keys as I type. I’m sipping Blue Lotus chai tea, and the sweet smell of frankincense is wafting over from the ancestor altar.
When I was a kid, my mom used to stay up terribly late. She went to bed at 4 or 5am, and slept til 10am (hello, chronic sleep deprivation).
Once I was in the thick of parenting, I started to understand why.
She was an empath who needed space and time alone to settle, to think her own thoughts, uninterrupted.
She was also a Projector in Human Design, which meant she needed to clear her aura and recalibrate from holding space for others all day. Her lack of boundaries meant that 4am was the only time she felt “allowed” to do this.
My mama knew it was unhealthy to skip sleep, and disrespect her circadian rhythm - but the tradeoff was too juicy to pass up.
I used to frequently stay up late - and I even experimented with bi-phasic sleep for a few years. 0/10, do not recommend - especially as a woman, especially as a Projector (Manifestors and Reflectors, too). Better to honor your adrenals and hormones - and value your rest!
Now - my babies are growing up fast. Nobody needs tending in the middle of the night anymore - but sometimes, I still wake up thrumming with ideas at 4am.
Ollie, my last babe, was born in late 2011 - and with his paradigm-shifting freebirth came the activating, shaking energies of 2012.
So much goodness and change came into our lives that year - blessings that are still present today - in the form of relationships and friendships, ideas and choices, decisions playing out over time…
Sometimes, “instant” manifestation can trace its roots back, years prior.
The time between late July and early August is said to be the most potent time for manifesting!
There’s more talk about the so-called Lion’s Gate portal every year. It’s when Sirius, the brightest star in our sky, rises in alignment with the sun. The Sphinx is aligned with Sirius as well, and it seems likely that the original head of the Sphinx was in fact, a lion.
The Lion’s Gate Portal peaks at 8/8, but its energies are already at play, and will continue until mid-to-late August. This is a time for meditating, for connecting with the cosmos, and for revelling in the joy and delight that magnetizes our manifestations into this reality!
The entire months of July and August are an excellent time to make key decisions and take inspired actions, and to focus on our greatest manifestation tool (desire)!
» One of the most savvy manifestors around (who’s a Manifestor in Human Design, too!) is Gala Darling - and her new book, Magnetic Mindset, came out just at the beginning of Lion’s Gate this year! Coincidence??
Om top of this - there’s a triple conjunction happening right now (July 31-Aug 2), involving Mars, Uranus, and the north node of the moon in Taurus - which carries intense, spicy energies of personal and collective growth.
More personal growth?? Yep - it takes a lot to raise the collective frequency…and this time it’s more like a blazing wildfire, than a warm Springtime breeze!
As Mars rules conflict, and Uranus is the planet of innovation and progress, we can expect to feel some upheaval in the world culture, as well as in our intimate relationships.
Then, our north node in astrology is a big-picture representation of growth over time.
The sign your north node is in can serve as a guidepost to help you recognize and embody the traits of your highest self. Conversely, your south node sign indicates where you’re likely to be most comfortable (and sometimes childish!).
When the Oracle cards speak twice…
I was pretty surprised when I pulled the “Jump In” card from the Starseed oracle, as guidance for this moment.
Not because it said anything so radical or strange - but because my dear friend Dr. Marissa pulled the exact same card, just three days prior!
Okay, HEARD.
The message of this card is telling us to quit second-guessing ourselves, take an inspired leap, and embrace the coming change.
We may have been holding back, waiting for a sign before taking radical action in some area of our lives. Maybe we’re being faced with a challenge, or feeling called to pursue a lofty new goal.
Sometimes, the most magnetic thing we can do to manifest our dreams is to take action.
When we act with courage, the entire universe is moved by such a clear-hearted act, and starts conspiring in our favor to move mountains for us. We don't always need to have a fine-tuned plan - sometimes, it's enough to know the next right step, and go for it.
Incidentally - following our intuition doesn't mean the path will be easy!
So many folks follow their heart-guidance into choppy waters, and then second-guess themselves because the waters are choppy! Encountering challenges does NOT automatically mean that you've made a wrong choice.
If this is you - take a moment to feel into your challenges: Are they truly signs that you’ve gone off the rails, or were you just expecting a less bumpy ride?
You already know what your soul is yearning for - now is the time to take a deep breath, summon your courage, and leap!
