Do you remember this book from your childhood? I do.

Grover goes to the museum to learn about the world - EVERYthing in it!

He finds things on pedestals, in glass boxes and cases, and suspended from the ceiling.

All labeled carefully. All taken out of the context of their existence.

Finally, he finds the door with Everything ELSE behind it...and it's everything he ever wanted to see and MORE!

He doesn't quite realize it's the museum's EXIT.

I've always thought this is a perfect summary of school versus unschooling.

Thanks go to Sandra Dodd for this image of the best page of the book.

Sandra Dodd is one of the OGs of unschooling - and one of my first mentors, who seriously pissed me off back in 2003.

I’m grateful for that interaction - because it changed the trajectory of our lives!
